Cockle Shell Porcelain Wall Sculpture
- Description
This piece was inspired by the beautiful fluid forms of tiny Cockle shells which wash up on my local beach. It is designed to hang on a wall but is equally happy sitting on any surface. There is a key hole fitting on the back for hanging on a regular sized screw.
I create each ceramic art piece through a slow process of hand sculpting, slip casting and a variety of textural finishing techniques. My working process is largely intuitive as I experiment with and learn from the beautifully smooth porcelain clay.
Like the ripples in each ocean tide, no two pieces are the same.
